LIBRARY & TRAINING
ANWAB has a full service Braille library with thousands of books donated by institutions in the UK and the United States. There is also training in Mobility, Braille and typing as well as production of locally made guide canes and styluses for writing and provision of recreational activities for blind people.
INDEPENDENT LIVING
Teaching daily living skills is an important aspect of training that ANWAB wishes to undertake especially for women and girls. With the move to a new office, we have set up the Independent Living room with equipment donated by the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and the Lions Club of Egbeda, Lagos. These include washing machine, gas cooker and refrigerators.
REHABILITATION
ANWAB engages in the rehabilitation of newly and already blind individuals, especially those who go blind during their work or educational career and wish to be trained to re-adjust to a new way of life and return to their various careers. There is training in Braille, mobility and typewriting.
